Foresight
Regulatory intelligence for India’s GST ecosystem, organised around forecasts, probabilities, horizons and recent policy signals.
Foresight began as GST Foresight and is evolving toward a broader regulatory-intelligence product. Its core idea is that regulation should not be experienced only as circulars, notifications and retrospective explanations. A useful system should also help people understand direction, probability, timing and the relationship between separate signals.
The interface therefore treats regulatory change as a living forecast. Individual predictions can carry probability history, a time horizon, supporting intelligence and movement over time instead of being reduced to a binary “will happen / will not happen” claim.
Information model
Foresight is organised around a few recurring objects: predictions, probability, horizon, recent intelligence and questions. The home surface is designed to let a visitor move from a broad field of likely developments into a specific forecast, inspect why it moved and then follow the underlying intelligence in more detail.
The project has repeatedly refined the distinction between stale, moving and resolved forecasts so that visual state reflects real information rather than decorative activity. Probability history is treated as evidence of how a view changed, not simply as a chart to make the product feel analytical.
Product direction
The long-term ambition is to make Foresight useful enough to function as a reference layer for regulatory change in India. That means favouring traceable reasoning, clear state transitions and durable archives over feed-like novelty. Personalisation such as signed-in greetings, profiles and notifications sits underneath that goal rather than replacing it.
The current design work focuses on making navigation between the hero forecast field, recent intelligence and the complete prediction set instinctive on both desktop and mobile, while keeping dense microcopy from turning the interface into unreadable technical soup.
Relationship to earlier work
Foresight sits downstream of several earlier Slenderscape accounting and compliance experiments. Taxman Calling, See It Sort It and CA-OS explored how practitioners encounter documents, filings, reconciliations and deadlines. Foresight takes a different layer of the same problem: what changes next, how confident should we be and what evidence is moving the forecast.
