CA-OS

A practice operating-system concept for chartered-accountancy firms, centred on briefings, reconciliation, document ingestion, GST work and conversational access.

Mar – Oct 2026

CA-OS treated a chartered-accountancy practice as an information system rather than a collection of disconnected utilities. The concept brought together daily briefings, reconciliation, document ingestion, GST workflows and conversational access so that the practice could be queried and operated as a coherent whole.

A recurring idea was that the interface should meet practitioners where work already happens, including WhatsApp-like conversational flows, instead of requiring every task to begin inside a large dashboard.

What it taught the later projects

CA-OS made the “office brain” idea explicit: a useful system should remember the state of work, understand incoming material and surface what needs attention without forcing people to reconstruct context manually. That principle continues to influence experiments around document intelligence and agent-like interfaces.

The monolithic product is archived because its strongest ideas now make more sense as separate systems with clearer jobs. Foresight focuses on regulatory change; other experiments focus on ingestion, local knowledge or practice automation without carrying the entire operating-system metaphor at once.
